Eugenia Kim is a Korean American who grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In her early years, she had aspired to be a doctor just like her father. However a stint in hospital during her freshman year at college meant that she changed her mind. The change of course meant that she was unknowingly pushed to her destiny of being a fashion designer. She ended up in New York after her graduation and started working as an assistant in Allure Magazine. 

However, Eugenia Kim soon developed a more than passing interest in fashion which saw her enroll part time at the Parsons School of Design. This is where she first came face to face with her destiny, in the form of hat-making classes. She got fired abruptly from Allure owing to a small incident and in her devastated state of mind, she gave herself a haircut. This, however proved disastrous to her and lucky for the world of fashion. The hair cut looked so bad that she shaved her entire head in order to salvage the same. This is when she decided to put to use her craft of making hats so that she could cover her bald head. However, her hand made hats caught the attention of boutiques in her down town New York City. Before long, Barneys New York placed their first order with her. Brand Eugenia Kim was born! 

Signature Collection

Eugenia Kim is a brand that stands for class, innovation, luxury, femininity, boldness, playfulness all put into one. The Expansion

Though it started out as a millinery collection brand, Eugenia Kim soon expanded into other accessory offerings too. This was spurred by the success of the collections launched. A footwear collection was launched in 2004, which soon became a highly coveted one, and in 2014, she re-launched the footwear collection. The multiple collections offered by the brand now spans across exclusive items like beanies, earmuffs, boots, flats, fedoras and hats.

Eugenia Kim is available at most luxury retailers like Barneys New York, Bergdorf Goodman, Harvey Nichols, Saks Fifth Avenue and Net-a-porter. It is also available in more than 300 additional department stores as well as designated boutiques worldwide. Her collections come to shape in her New York City Studio.

The "Accessories Designer of the Year" award from CFDA is just a recognition of the unique and exclusive collections that she introduced to the world of fashion.
